As part of NYSAFLT's goals and Strategic Plan for 2004-2008, it is stated that NYSAFLT shall
"assume the responsibility to develop future leaders in the foreign language profession."
The primary goal of the NYSAFLT Leaders of Tomorrow project will be to:
- identify future leaders of our profession;
- develop their leadership skills through a three-part leadership training seminar during which they will also be educated about NYSAFLT, our mission, goals and the programs we currently offer;
- alleviate the critical shortage of leaders willing to step forward into positions of leadership in NYSAFLT and other professional organizations at the local, state and national level.
